Functional Skills Exams

Functional Skills exams are a series of qualifications designed to develop practical skills in English, mathematics, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). These exams aim to equip learners with the necessary skills to succeed personally and professionally. They are widely recognised by employers, colleges and universities across the UK and are an essential part of many vocational qualifications.

Functional Skills qualifications aim to develop learners’ confidence and fluency in maths and English, allowing them to participate and progress in education, training, and employment.

Functional Skills assessments have two outcomes: either a ‘pass’ or a ‘fail’ grade. There are no other grading options available.

Online and Paper-Based Functional skills Exams – you Choose your Preferred Option

Our Functional Skills exams can be taken online (answering questions on the computer screen) or as a paper-based exam (traditional paper-based written exam). 

Our Highfield-approved exams are conducted throughout the year, but you have to book in advance. These exams will be externally assessed and can be carried out in exam conditions in the comfort of your home or at our assessment centre in Beckenham.

Awarding Body for Functional Skills Exam

Our courses are Highfield qualifications. You will be working with Functify Learning (part of Geek School Tutoring) to complete your learning and the exam Online.

Our Functional Skills exams and courses are accredited by Highfield, and our centre in Beckenham has been approved by Highfield.
